Just checking::

Are you sure you have entered both the local-url (http://localhost: 
8080) and the remote-url (http://yoursite.com) in the maps  
configuration?
the keys you add in the control-panel should be differen (= you need  
to request two keys from google)

Addin them both at top and bottom (API and AJAX) should work.
