sorry, I haven't seen this before... as long as I can see the init 
parameter does the following:

     Initialize a buildout, creating a buildout.cfg file if it doesn't
     exist and then performing the same actions as for the buildout
     command.

I think you must run only bin/buildout -v and that's it...
