Yes  :-)

Just point the rewrite to the squid port.

http://localhost:[squid_port]/VirtualHostBase/http/www.example.org:80/example_site/VirtualHostRoot/$1

assuming you have the appropriate cache_peer lines in the squid  
config.  If not, you may want to check into plone.recipe.squid (for  
buildouts), or the "extras" download at http://plone.org/products/cachefu 
  (for non-buildouts), or just hand tweak your config so that it looks  
something like so:

http_port 127.0.0.1:3128 vhost defaultsite=example.com
pid_filename /path/to/squid-install/var/squid.pid
