Martin,
	Note in my snippets below that the Zope Directory is before the
VirtualHostRoot command...I'm not sure what you need to use for the root
of Zope...but I think that's the direction you need to look into. Maybe
you can post or send me your httpd.conf & ssl.conf files and I'll see
what I can see?

<!-- Begin httpd.conf =======================================
NameVirtualHost 10.1.1.101:80
<VirtualHost 10.1.1.101:80>
	   ServerName www.domain.com
         RewriteEngine On
	   RewriteRule (.*) https://www.domain.com [R]
</VirtualHost>
<!-- End httpd.conf =======================================

<!-- Begin ssl.conf =======================================
NameVirtualHost 10.1.1.101:443
<VirtualHost 10.1.1.101:443>
	 ServerName www.domain.com
	 ServerAdmin jmarshall at geiger.com
	 SSLEngine on
SSLCertificateFile D:/Apache/Apache2/conf/domain.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile D:/Apache/Apache2/conf/domain.key
SSLCACertificateFile D:/Apache/Apache2/conf/domain.txt
       RewriteEngine On
       RewriteRule ^/(.*)
http://localhost:8081/VirtualHostBase/https/www.domain.com:443/<Zope_dir
ectory>/VirtualHostRoot/$1 [L,P]
       ProxyVia on
       ErrorLog "|d:/apache/cronolog.exe
g:/weblogs/www.domain.com/error-%Y%m%d.log"
       CustomLog "|d:/apache/cronolog.exe
g:/weblogs/www.domain.com/access-%Y%m%d.log" combined
</VirtualHost>
<!-- End ssl.conf =======================================

Subject: [Setup] Re: Re: Can't get Plone+Apache SSL to work

Hi

Thanks for your response. I have narrowed it down a bit and thanks to
Joe Marshall I turned on the rewrite log (duh). I notice that SSL works
fine by its own when I don't use rewrite rules but when I use rewrite
rule:
http://81.26.252.160:81/VirtualHostBase/https/81.26.252.160:443/VirtualH
ostRoot/$1

I get:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Plone works just fine on http://81.26.252.160:81/ , zope on
http://81.26.252.160:8081/ and ssl on http://81.26.252.160:443/

It's when I turn on the rewrite rules it gets messy.
