An alternative to PrinceXML is

http://www.realobjects.com/products/pdfreactor/

PDFreactor is a bit cheaper (3000 USD for server licence while PrinceXML
cost 3800 USD).

Both converters are very, very similar feature-wise and quality-wise. For an
upcoming project we decided to go away from PrinceXML (which was the
first-class converter for Produce & Publish so far) and use PDFreactor
instead.
