[Product-Developers] What happened to CMFMetadata?

Hi,

We're looking for a solution to creating new categories of pages  
through the web or "Flexible Metadata". see https://dev.plone.org/ticket/934

CMFMetadata, and ancient product, seemed to have done this. Does  
anyone know of a way to do this today with an existing plugin?
