[Product-Developers] Is it possible to restrict the number of simultaneous logins for a given user account?

This requirement is for a financial portal and the client wants given login
to be restricted to one active session at any given point of time. So, in
case user (who has already logged in to the portal and is in a active
session) logs in on to a different machine/ browser while the first session
is active, the users first session should get automatically invalidated.
