OK, it's resolved now, by using a new buildout. Don't know what the 
problem was with the old one. Mad props to MatthewWilkes who accepted an 
emailed .tar.gz, did the customization himself, and proved that it works 
(in 3.1, 3.0.5, and 3.0.6)!
