OK, now I am making some progress, thanks to your help. I found the
errors in my first attempt using your SiteMember product.

The product installs and appears in the remember setup drop down. I can
even get the workflow to work, if I comment out the validators. If I
leave the validators in, I get the errors I was getting before.

Also checked my original GernericSetup product, and it also works when I
remove the validators from the schema.

Not sure what is wrong with the validators, but will keep you posted.
