[NGO] tal:attributes problem

I have created a form (Controller Page Template.)
 
What I need, is for a field that is populated by the user to continue
to be populated by the same value when the form is submitted, but posts
back to itself - cos they've not filled in a field correctly etc..
 
I need to generate this tal:attribute statement for the value of the
input field;
 
tal:attributes="value request/DaysTotal_A1"
 
However I need A1 to be a value generated from results/DelayCode  - how
can I do this ? ?
