[Gsoc-students] Proposal on Syndication

Hi.

I see two PLIPs for syndication, 128 and 137, plus this:

6  Atom support in the core (Mentor: Andy McKay)
    * Syncing between portals using Atom or RSS + something similar to MS'
extensions on top of RSS

I am already working on PLIP 128, coming out of the BBQ Sprint. I was planning
to apply for PLIP 137 for gsoc. However, what Andy describes (syncing between
portals) is exactly what we need to do here at Georgia Tech and is what my work
on the other PLIPs was aiming at. So, I'm definitely interested.

I *am* concerned that several different proposals include syndication. Should we
collaborate to divide the work so that there is no unnecessary duplication of
effort?

Let me know what direction to proceed. I plan on writing my proposal tomorrow
(Thursday) night.
