yeah, I think that's fair...

Something as simple as letting the z3 side know that plone and the 
framework team has been discussing this is more important symbolically 
than having a unified response. 

just because everyone else charges in guns blazing doesn't mean we have 
to. and this debate could really effect plone more than almost anyone 
else, so at looking before leaping isn't a bad idea.  at least we should 
know the ups downs of what other think to inform an effective response.

I would say that helping generate some opinions on the plone side and 
expressing them on the z3 side would be the most important thing here.  
I would say the framework team is somewhat charged with the roles of 
representing those that don't know enough to care in this situation, and 
figuring out a way to get that information on their needs is what is 
called for.
