Just found this list as an extra to the NGO list.<br />

I am a plone user/manager, not a developer, though I do get to work  
with the basics of the backend - which probably keeps our developer  
busier than he should fixing the odd screwups.<br />
<br />
I project manage a state environmental portal for community non profit  
Landcare groups in Victoria (Australia)- the Vic Landcare Gateway <a  
href="http://www.landcarevic.net.au">www.landcarevic.net.au</a> . This  
is intended to provide community managed sites for around 600 groups  
across Victoria, listed through 10 Natural Resource Management Regions  
which are currently setup as subportals.<br />

We use our ISP (Netaxxs) as our primary developer as well as tech  
support, but have also started to bring in extra contracted developers  
lately. </p><p>I started using plone 1 in about 2000 to setup a  
regional site, which was expanded to statewide in about 2003 once the  
capabilities of plone were understood.  We (state team) are planning a  
significant upgrade of the site, and in the process of enabling couple  
of key products (minportal and ontology), to enable more user friendly  
access to other groups with similar interests, and resource materials  
to assist these interests.<br />
</p><p>Tis one of the strengths of plone that over the last 3 years as  
new ideas for useful capabilities of the gateway have been raised, the  
advice from the developer has usually been 'not a problem, will just  
add xxxxx product' and away it goes.  It was not til we got to higher  
end wish list that we have had to really put time and $$ into building
