From pilz at syslab.com Wed Sep 2 14:20:18 2026 From: pilz at syslab.com (Alexander Pilz) Date: Wed, 2 Sep 2026 16:20:18 +0200 Subject: Be in Monday's number! - Plone Conference 2026 Message-ID: PLONE CONFERENCE 2026 21?27 SEPTEMBER ? MAASTRICHT In this email: on Monday we send the hotel our final numbers, the programme freezes on Friday, and Matthias Kirschner opens the Business Track. MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER ? FINAL NUMBERS On Monday we tell the hotel how many we are Every conference has one morning when it becomes real. For us it is Monday 7 September ? the contractual deadline for our final headcount at Hotel Van der Valk. That number decides how much of everything there is: the catering, the coffee, the room setups, the party planning. Tickets remain on sale after Monday ? but there is a difference between being planned for and being fitted in. If you know you are coming, this is the week to say so. When we wrote in August, we said the price would rise in the final stretch before we open. The final stretch is now. A full-week ticket is ?368 (+ 21% Dutch VAT), and being in Monday's number is the cheapest way to be planned for. One more thing feeds the same number: the trainings. The training days on Monday and Tuesday are included in the full-week ticket, and the training rooms are planned from the registration list. If you are coming for a training, register for it now on the training page ? it takes a minute, and it is how we make sure the room fits the group. Get your ticket ?? Register for a training ?? THE WEEK IS SET The programme freezes on Friday The full schedule is published, and on Friday 4 September it stops changing ? what you see is the week you get. Two days of training, three days of talks, the Friday Business Track in parallel, and two days of community sprints at De Brandweerkantine. Thursday 24 September is the party at Muziekgieterij, 19:00?01:00, with Friday evening deliberately left open. See the full programme ?? BUSINESS TRACK ? KEYNOTE Matthias Kirschner opens the Friday The Friday Business Track ? Digital Autonomy & AI ? opens with a keynote by Matthias Kirschner, President of the Free Software Foundation Europe. Seven senior practitioners then carry one argument through the day: what digital autonomy means in practice, for public administrations and the companies that serve them. One day, in English, without requiring prior Plone knowledge. For organisations in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, this is the day where the policy word of the year ? digitale autonomie, digitale Souver?nit?t ? is treated as engineering practice. A Friday one-day ticket is ?149 (+ 21% Dutch VAT) and includes the Business Track. If someone else owns your platform decisions, bring them. Read the Business Track programme ?? THIS WEEK Four things worth doing now Get your ticket ? be in the number we send on Monday. Coming for a training? Register for it on the training page ? the rooms are planned from that list. Forward this email to the colleague who keeps saying they should come to a Plone conference one year. This is the year. Put Thursday 24 September, 19:00, in your calendar ? the party at Muziekgieterij is part of the week. Maastricht is where common ground is made. Be in the number. Get your ticket ??
